Our Making Sense project provides a range of services aimed specifically at children and young adults with Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and their parents/carers.

PMLD refers to individuals with a severe learning disability who also have a range of other disabilities, often including a physical disability, sensory impairment and/or complex medical conditions. All these young people will require a high level of support in all areas.

The Making Sense group is also suitable for children and young adults with severe/profound physical disabilities.

For children/young adults we offer:

  • A range of fun, fully accessible activities

  • Access to our sensory room

  • Access to a range of specialist toys and equipment through our Lending Library

  • Opportunities to develop communication, social interaction and sensory & emotional development in a relaxed and supportive environment.

For parents/carers we offer:

  • Advice and support

  • Specialist training on a variety of subjects

  • Opportunities to meet other parents/carers
