Golf Day raises £4,000
We’re delighted to share news of a fantastic donation from the Mitie MEP Annual Charity Golf Day, held at Woodbury Park Golf Club in September.

Friends & Families was proud to be one of two charities supported at this year’s event, alongside The Lighthouse Charity. Mitie invited their regular customers and suppliers to spend the day on the course, and the generosity on show was just as impressive as the golf.

Our Information & Advice Lead, Joe attended on the day and gave a talk to guests about the difference Friends & Families makes to families of disabled children and young people across Plymouth.
Businesses attending kindly donated items, events and experiences to the raffle and auction, and guests dug deep with bids, raffle tickets and one-off donations throughout the day. Together they raised £4,000 for Friends & Families.
A huge thank you to Mitie for organising such a brilliant day and choosing to support us. Thank you also to Brymec for sponsoring the event, and to every business that donated a prize or experience. And to everyone who bought a raffle ticket, placed a bid or simply gave on the day: you’ve made a real difference.
Where your support goes
Since 2002, Friends & Families has supported families of disabled children and young people in Plymouth. Our activities give children, young people, siblings and parents the chance to try new things, make friends and have fun in a space where they’re understood. Alongside this, our Information & Advice service helps families find their way through benefits, education and support systems that can often feel overwhelming.
Last year, 544 people took part in our programmes. Donations like this help keep our activities affordable and accessible, so no family misses out.
